Acid Foods? Alkaline Foods? What????

Easy & Better Ways to Feel Better

Osteoporosis...caused by what you DO eat?
Joint Pain? Dry skin? Hormonal Problems?
Low Energy and Chronic Fatigue?

Yes, these common ailments can now be traced back
to what you eat! So what's new you may ask? Well,
old research recently brought back to light regarding
the acid/alkaline balance of your body could be the
secret key that could unlock
healing of these ailments and many others.

When you eat a diet high in foods that create acidity in your
system, your body MUST immediately work to bring the acid/alkaline balance back. That means taking calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium from wherever it can find it (first spot, your bones). So eating a lot of dairy, sweets, coffee and animal proteins can actually create the illnesses we are trying so hard to avoid.

TYLENOL - THE BAD BOY

Today, the Food and Drug Administration again, stated that Tylenol and
other acetaminophen products are harmful to the liver! This may come as
a surprise to some people, but there are 56,000 people admitted to hospitals
each year with Tylenol related illnesses. What to do? Well....ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), is the other over-the-counter
option for pain relief. Advil and Motrin are some of the better known
NSAID's. The important thing to look at is: why do you have pain? Is there
anything you can do to alleviate it, besides taking pain meds?

Maybe yes! Try reducing: wheat, corn, dairy, and sugar. ALL of these food
groups are known to cause inflammation, the leading cause of pain. Also, digestive enzymes, taken between meals are known to reduce inflammation.
Particularly, Bromelain has been shown to reduce low back pain.

READING RECOMMENDATIONS

LATEST HEALTH and DIET BOOKS

  • Master Your Metabolism by Jillian Michaels
If you follow the three suggestions by Jillian, you WILL feel better!
  1. Look at the junk in your pantry and get rid of the "bad boys" like artificial flavorings, partially hydrogenated oils, and artificial sweeteners.
  2. Eat lots more natural foods like REAL vegetables and fruits...imagine!
  3. Go to bed! Go directly to bed! Even two nights of less than 7 hours of sleep can send your hormones and your body rhythms into a tail spin!

  • detox 4 Women by Natalia Rose
I tried this diet for 3 days and the difference in how I felt and looked was remarkable! I will try this one again! When chocolate and red wine are on the diet, it has to be good!
  1. Steer clear of "inflammatory foods" that include many diet staples.
  2. Many foods that you think are good for you really cause puffiness and "clog" your natural health system.
  3. Get the lymphatic system revved up and moving and you will feel and look years younger.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome - New Thoughts

Much has been published about this very debilitating condition, so we'll try not to rehash old
information here. So, here are some suggestions about IBS and new ways to possibly treat it:
1. Remove dairy products, made from cow's milk, from the diet. Yes, that includes all cheeses, yogurts and of course, milk. You would be surprised at the number of people who feel better with this one change.
2. Remove all wheat products from your diet. No, I am NOT saying that IBS sufferers are gluten intolerant! There is a huge difference between gluten intolerant and wheat sensitive. Just try it.This includes all breads, pastas (unless specified non-wheat), bagels, Pop Tarts, you get the picture.
3. Really take a hard look at your diet: how much processed food is in your diet? By processed food I mean any food whose ingredient lists contains more than 5 ingredients and it's not trail mix.
4. What is your Blood Type? The Eat Right for Your Type program that suggests that the 4 blood types are not all created alike. These are some foods that make an "A" Blood Type very happy and will make an "O" Blood Type sicker than a dog. (i.e peanut butter).
5. These are just a few simple ideas that have worked wonders with many people. Be kind to your stomach and it will be kind to you.

To Iron or Not to Iron?

Iron carries oxygen around in the blood. So, if you have more "good" iron, you will have more
oxygen in your blood! Boy, that would be great! More oxygen = more energy. More energy = more stuff gets done. Okay, you get the picture. Look for: elemental iron in your supplement.
Ferrous gluconate has much less chance of constipation (that's good). Remember that you should NOT take your iron supplement with your calcium. Calcium will reduce iron absorption. One supplement that I really like is Floravital Iron and Herbs, this is a liquid supplement that tastes like rusty prune juice, but boy does it work. Taken as directed, it can reduce some eye floaters, dizziness, headaches, constipation, and low energy to name a few!
